What I Do + Why

I’ve been learning to sing my whole life. In fact, I’ve been told that my dad (an incredible vocalist and musician) taught me to sing a simple scale (“la la la”) before I was speaking words. Between piano lessons, band classes and involvement in the youth worship band at my church, music was a hobby and a joy for many years until it became my field of study. Following high school, I attended Heritage College & Seminary and achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Church Music. This is both a theology and music degree, and it greatly enriched my love and knowledge in both of these areas.

I began teaching voice lessons virtually in 2020, before my final year at Heritage, and have been blessed to experience growth in my virtual studio ever since. Following my graduation in 2021, I continued teaching and began ministry as a worship leader. Between interim roles, guest leading, and relief leading, I’ve connected with churches all across the GTA and I thank God for the opportunities to serve and use my training for the local churches in my area. I was also invited back to Heritage as a Vocal Instructor in the Fall of 2021, which has been an incredible opportunity.

Since becoming involved in local church ministry, I have noticed many churches in need of worship leaders. I’ve been seeking to support worship leaders who need rest, or to support churches without a staff worship leader at all. My passion along that vein is to connect with other young people to inspire a deep love for the church and how musical gifts can be used to encourage the saints and worship God.

Now, my goal is to continue in ministry to churches and students through vocal workshops, guest worship leading, and voice lessons. Thanks for stopping by!
